If you have not signed up for Google Analytics and you own the web site that your podcasts are listed on, then your making a mistake.  I am a big fan of almost everything that Google is doing on the Internet.  Google Analytics is the best way I know of to get information on your web page.  I do limited web hosting on my servers for my clients and myself.  I have two statistics programs installed on the servers, Webalizer and Urchin Stats.  Urchin Stats is by far the better of the two statistics programs and I am getting ready to drop the Webalizer stat program.  Urchin server statistics program is an industry leader and has been for years.  It gives your information about the people who visit your web site and the equipment they use.  This is very valuable stuff for anyone wanting to increase the efficiency of your web page and therefore the promotion of your podcasts.

Some web hosting companies provide statistics programs like Urchin for people that host web pages with them.  If your web hosting company provides a server program like Urchin then your in luck.  However,  Google is rapidly becoming the savior or everyone with a web page.   Google has teamed up with Urchin to provide everyone with a web page, the best stats program I have ever seen and it's called Google Analytics.  This program has just started and is very popular.   It is so popular that, as of the time of this writing, there is a waiting list to sign up for this service.   Google Analytics is offered by invitation only.  So you need to go to their web site and request an invitation.

When Google sends you an invitation all you need to do is then place a bit of code at the bottom of your web pages.  It takes about 24 hours for the stats to start being generated but then you will have incredible online access the a wealth of information about your web pages. By studying these stats you can learn how to better design your web page to get more traffic and therefore promote your podcasts better.
